A cool front sweeps through adds relief Tuesday and hot Fourth of July

Columbus, Ga. (WRBL)- A cool front is slowly working across the region but with all the humidity being trapped across the region, the humidity has made it very oppressive for the rest of this evening.

The good news is that drier air will work in behind this system Monday, so humidity levels will be knocked down slightly, but air temperatures will still remain into the upper 90s.

Tuesday will be our best day of the work week with daytime high readings topping off into the upper 80s, with pleasant conditions behind the front, with only a sporadic shower or storm in the region.

4th of July:  The forecast looks mainly dry and hot with just enough energy for a sporadic pop-up shower or storm across the region. Looking good otherwise for outdoor celebrations.

Scattered showers and storms return for the second half of the holiday weekend.

Tropical Update: The tropics are still quite active, especially with Hurricane Beryl.

The set-up in the tropical Atlantic basin, Carribean, and Gulf of Mexico is in our favor with storms remaining away from the southeast.

Post remnants of Beryl by the weekend may bring considerable showers and storms towards south Texas.
