A large emergence of bats from the Phoenix Bat Cave appeared on the National Weather Service radar around 9 p.m. on Saturday.
According to a Facebook post from National Weather Service Phoenix, a large number of bats emerged from a bat cave near State Route 51 in the Biltmore area Saturday night. The movement of the bats appeared on the weather radar as a burst of green.
Catching bat movements on the radar is not unusual, weather service officials said, and the large emergence is likely part of the animals’ daily cycle.
