(KRON) – A traffic stop led to a driver wearing a “Jason” mask being arrested, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
At 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, Santa Rosa Special Enforcement Team officers noticed a Gold Toyota Camry without any headlights or taillights near the intersection of Marlow Road and Bay Village Circle. According to police, the driver was wearing a “Jason” style face mask.

The officers conducted a traffic stop, where they referred to the driver as “nervous” and noticed he was “sweating profusely.” Santa Rosa PD said officers located an AR-15-style rifle slightly concealed by a blanket in the back seat. Upon further investigation, officers discovered the firearm was an unloaded and secured Eagle Arms Eagle-15 5.56 mm rifle. However, the gun was unregistered.
The driver was identified as 27-year-old Santa Rosa resident Adonay Efriem.
Efriem was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility for possession of an assault weapon.
