A Myrtle Beach Police officer was placed on leave after being arrested by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Christopher Michael Turner, 32, was charged with second-degree domestic violence and was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Thursday.
Myrtle Beach Police posted on its Facebook page Friday morning that the department is aware of the arrest of Turner, who has been an employee with the department since 2014.
The post said that Turner is currently on leave without pay pending the outcome of the case.
No other details about the incident or charges were available.
Turner was promoted to a corporal in 2022. In 2019, Turner was part of the K-9 division, becoming a handler for Bek, according to an article by The Sun News.
