NY awards colleges with tech, lab grants. How much did Finger Lakes schools receive?

Three Finger Lakes region colleges have received millions of dollars in grants for various projects, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced last week.

Grants through the Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program support construction and renovation of new laboratory and research spaces, the purchase of new instructional technologies and equipment as well as other investments. Campuses receiving the grants have to invest at least $3 of their own funds for every $1 of state funds they receive.

“The Higher Education Capital Matching Grant program (HECap) is a stellar example of a public-private partnership that works for all New Yorkers,” state Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky, D-Whitestone, said. “The HECap program helps campuses across the state make critical investments in their infrastructure and equipment, keeping New York’s independent colleges and universities competitive on a national and global level.”

Here’s which Rochester-area schools received funding.
