If you’re planning on spending the 4th of July outdoors, make sure you bring lots of water and take frequent shade breaks today.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for coastal, metro and inland Palm Beach County until 8 p.m.
Temperatures will be in the high 80s / low 90s throughout Independence Day, but peak heat index values (feels-like temperatures) will range between 105 and 110 degrees in the afternoon. The NWS is warning that the high temperatures and humidity are a threat for heat illnesses.
It’s not likely any of those afternoon storms will pop up today to cool us off either. It’s expected to be a rain-free day before more summer-like storms appear Friday and through the weekend.
Happy Independence Day🇺🇸!
It is going to be another hot and humid day, with a Heat Advisory in effect for all of SFL.
Although rain chances will be limited over the east coast metro, scattered storms will be possible through this evening over interior and SW Florida.#Flwx pic.twitter.com/ycfF2uD9SP
