A driver died in a single-vehicle crash on East Vineyard Avenue outside Oxnard early Thursday, according to California Highway Patrol reports.

The incident was reported shortly after 3 a.m. near the cross with Montgomery Avenue, according to CHP and Ventura County Fire Department logs. The site is just outside city limits in a commercial and agricultural area.

The person was reported to be trapped and unresponsive in the vehicle. Firefighters were at the scene for nearly 90 minutes.

No details were immediately available about the victim or circumstances of the collision.

Personnel from Southern California Edison also responded to the scene.

The CHP cleared the accident site around 5:30 a.m.
