Victim seriously injured in Mission District shooting


SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man has life-threatening injuries after he was shot in San Francisco’s Mission District on Wednesday, the San Francisco Police Department said.

SFPD originally responded to the 1900 block of Mission Street at 7:53 p.m. for the shooting. Police did not locate a victim, but witnesses pointed them to the area of 19th and Harrison Streets, where they found him.

The man was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds and life-threatening injuries. Officers remained at the scene to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with “SFPD.”

The shooting was the second tragic incident to happen in the Mission District on Wednesday. A 15-month-old baby was seriously injured after falling out of the window of an apartment building at 2315 Mission St., blocks away from the shooting.
