Albany police make arrests in three felony cases


ALBANY – A suspect accused of taking his chicken and fries to go by way of stealing them from a restaurant storage building and later causing damage at an Albany Police Department interview room is one of three recent arrests announced by the agency.

Ramon Smalls, 49, was charged with burglary, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and interference with government property. He is accused of breaking into a storage building at the 1101 Dawson Road Wendy’s restaurant. Once at the police station, he damaged property in the interview room, police said.

In a separate case, police charged Devontae Brown, 17, with theft by taking of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a person under age 18. The victim in that case told police that Brown took the pistol from his car and ran from the scene. Police later recovered the pistol.

In the third incident, police arrested Alexander Goines, 42, on an armed robbery charge. He is accused of beating the victim with a handgun and taking his car at gunpoint.

The keys to the car were later found in Goines’ clothing, police said.
