Jul. 3—Audrey Eileen (Gess) Neve of Austin, MN, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024 at Cedar Court Senior Living in Adams, MN. Audrey was born September 3, 1928 in Faribault, MN to Leonard & Dorothy Gess. The family moved to the Austin area and Audrey graduated from Austin High School in 1946. She married Raymond Neve on October 19, 1947 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Waltham, MN. Ray & Audrey enjoyed 73 years of marriage until Ray’s passing in 2020.

Audrey worked several jobs over the years, including Weyerhaeuser and as a teacher’s aide at Austin High School. Ray & Audrey were faithful members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. Audrey was an avid golfer and seldom missed a Ladies Day. Retirement found Ray & Audrey spending winters in Florida, playing golf and going on many cruises.

Audrey is survived by her sons David (Catherine), Jeffrey, and Kevin (Debi), grandchildren Marie, Jennifer, and Sarah, sisters Patricia and Gretchen, brother Daniel (Connie), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Donna & Muriel.

A graveside service will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
