Duo steals ‘large sums’ of money in driveway sealcoating scam in Perry County, Troopers investigating


PERRY COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Two men stole a lot of money when they scammed someone about having work done to their driveway, and Troopers are asking for the public’s help in trying to find them.

State Police at Newport said in a report, Troopers were contacted after 3 a.m. Tuesday for a scam that happened at a home in the 2000 block of Middle Ridge Road in Juniata Township.

The duo were paid two “large sums” of money after they offered to sealcoat the driveway, State Police said. They told the man to not mention the service to anyone.

“The suspects provided a deceptive service and left the victim’s residence,” the State Police report said. The duo drove away in a white pickup truck.
