The booms are back.
Independence Day celebrations are planned across Northeast Pennsylvania, and with them come a lot of the fireworks and fun. Here’s a list, organized by county, of when and where you can celebrate the nation’s birthday in the coming days.
Lackawanna County
* Wednesday: 9 p.m., Abington Heights Middle School, South Abington Twp. Rain date Friday.
* Wednesday: 9 p.m., Courthouse Square, Scranton.
* Thursday: Following RailRiders game vs. Lehigh Valley at PNC Field. Game starts at 6:35.
* Friday: Following RailRiders game vs. Lehigh Valley at PNC Field. Game starts at 6:35.
* Friday: 9 p.m., Veterans Memorial Field, Jessup.
* Saturday: 9 p.m., North Pocono football stadium, Moscow. Rain date is Sunday.
Luzerne County
* Wednesday: 9:30 p.m., Wright Twp. Municipal Park,. Mountain Top. Vendors and music in the park before the fireworks. Rain date is Friday.
* Thursday: Wilkes-Barre’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. Event begins noon in Kirby Park and features live music, food, vendors and rides.
* Thursday: Backwoods Bar and Kitchen, Dallas. Doors open at 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per vehicle.
* Saturday: 9 p.m., Garden Drive-In, Hunlock Creek. Rain date is July 13.
* Saturday: 9:45 p.m., City View Park, Hazleton.
Pike County
* Thursday: 9 p.m. Lake Wallenpaupack, Hawley. Rain date is Friday.
Schuylkill County
* Wednesday: 9 p.m., Frackville Little League / Softball Complex.
* Wednesday: 9:30 p.m., Minersville Recreation Park. Rain date is Friday.
* Thursday: 9:30 p.m., Monument Hill, Port Carbon.
* Saturday: 9 p.m., Island Park, Schuylkill Haven.
* Saturday: 9 p.m., downtown Saint Clair.
Wyoming County
* Wednesday: Tunkhannock Rotary Club Fireworks at Tunkhannock High School. Gates open at 6 p.m.
* Thursday: Dusk, Nicholson Ball Field, Nicholson.
