Fresno firefighters catch snake while grocery shopping

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Firefighters found a snake that they later released at a parking lot on Tuesday morning, the Fresno Fire Department said.

While shopping for groceries on Tuesday morning, the crew from Ladder 3 noticed some commotion in the parking lot. When they went to investigate what was happening, they found a snake in the bushes of the parking lot.

Fire officials were able to carefully catch the snake and put it inside a red container. Firefighters say the snake was later released where it belonged.

In the social media post, firefighters also took the opportunity to let the community know about the city’s cooling centers.

“It’s rumored, the snake was just heading to one of the City’s cooling centers to cool off,” firefighters said.
