Little Rock fireworks business aims to charge less after years of high costs

LITTLE ROCK, Ark – After recent years have seen a spike in fireworks prices, a Little Rock business is aiming to give people’s pockets a break ahead of Fourth of July thanks to lower costs.

According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, ocean shipping rates for fireworks doubled in the last two years, forcing the owners of AR Firework Warehouse to raise their prices.

“The way we price our stuff is just based off what it cost us, so last year was the worst,” owner Caemeron Bitzer said.

Firework prices skyrocket for 2nd straight year

His wife Leanna Bitzer said there’s a huge difference in number this year compared to the last two years.

“It was probably about 15% more expensive,” Leanna Bitzer said.

The two say this year is much different.

“The prices came down and if the customers aren’t getting a good deal in my opinion the business are ripping folks off,” Caemeron Bitzer said.

Bitzer said he and his wife have been in the business for 12 years and both agree that lower shipping prices brings better deals for fireworks buyers.

“If we keep our customers happy, our customers feel like they were able to get a good number of fireworks at a good price, I think that’s how we’re going to grow,” Caemeron Bitzer said.

Caemeron Bitzer said their lowest price for fireworks starts at $8.99, $10 less than the last two years. He said they’re hoping prices stay that low.
