What police found in car headed the wrong way on I-71


CLEVELAND (WJW) – Police in Cleveland intercepted a wrong-way driver on I-71.

Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers with the Cleveland Division of Police stopped a driver going northbound in the southbound lanes of I-71 near the Clark Ave. bridge.

FOX 8 crews at the scene saw officers retrieving a bottle of liquor from the vehicle.

Police took the driver into custody.

The driver has not been identified.

On June 13, a driver headed southbound in the northbound lanes of I-71 hit another vehicle head-on, killing one of the passengers.
