East Nashville neighbors concerned over string of car break-ins

EAST NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Neighbors are now looking for solutions after multiple cars were broken into over the weekend in East Nashville.

One car after the other had a busted-out window off Glenn Drive in East Nashville.

“Just on our street it was eight or nine cars and I know it reached out all the way to Lindell…I saw a cop car outside and they were just going from house to house,” said Anna Renaud.

News 2 obtained surveillance video on Lindell Street. In the footage, you can see a car pull up and multiple people get out. In one clip, you see a car door slam shut then someone run back into the car before it takes off.

“My car is right outside my bedroom window so that is also really concerning that this happened feet from where I was sleeping,” Renaud said.

Renaud said her outside cameras unfortunately did not catch the suspects, so she put up another camera directly outside her bedroom window.

“He took this, bent it, and tried to get into my car, and then once he got in, he took my middle consul and snapped it off,” Anna Guthrie said.

Thankfully, Guthrie’s car didn’t have significant outside damage. It’s a different story for Renaud.

“I know my window is going to cost $500. “Right now, it’s just change your insurance policy to be able to cover this in the future, it is what I did as well,” Renaud said.
