Eight car burglaries in one day under investigation in Glen Rock


A string of burglaries to unlocked vehicles that occurred in Glen Rock last week are still under investigation. according to police.

The reported robberies started at around 4:26 a.m. June 25, according to Glen Rock police. A resident on Daryl Court was the first to call for police assistance after they saw someone inside their vehicle outside their house.

The alleged perpetrator was wearing a black hoodie and black pants, and ran off toward Doremus Avenue after the resident shouted at them, police said. Authorities could not find the suspect after searching the area.

Police received more calls of residents reporting their vehicles being broken into as the day progressed. A total of eight unlocked vehicles had been entered overnight, officials said. The reports came from residents along the 300 and 400 blocks of Doremus Avenue, Leone Court, and at Glen Rock Square.

The items that were stolen from the vehicles include an iPad, a wallet, $100 in cash, credit cards and personal identification.

None of the victims could provide the police with descriptions of the intruder after they checked their home video surveillance systems.

An attempt to enter a ninth vehicle was unsuccessful on Doremus Avenue, according to the police report.

Police did not state that any arrests were made regarding the vehicles robberies.
