Arrest made after brick thrown into French Quarter establishment, owner attacked with railroad spike: NOPD

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man was arrested after he allegedly threw a brick into a French Quarter establishment and hit the owner with a railroad spike on Saturday, June 29.

NOPD officials said a business owner in the 800 block of Decatur Street confronted 44-year-old Leif Rosell after he allegedly threw a brick through the window of the establishment around 12:56 p.m.

Rosell and the establishment owner then got into a fight when Rosell allegedly took out a railroad spike and hit the victim’s head with it.

According to the NOPD, the victim was taken to a hospital for “sustaining head trauma,” and Rosell was arrested.

The NOPD did not release additional information.
