2 hospitalized after Kalamazoo shooting


KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hospitalized after a shooting Sunday night in Kalamazoo, police said.

Just after 10 p.m., officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were called to Portage Street near Banbury Road for reports of shots fired. They arrived to find an 18-year-old and 19-year-old, both from Kalamazoo, with gunshot wounds.

First responders gave medical aid and then the victims were taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

KDPS does not have any suspects in the shooting.
