Missing child with autism dies after being pulled from ‘body of water’ in Brandon: HCSO


TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a missing 6-year-old with autism was found in a “body of water” in Brandon on Sunday.

Shortly before 4 p.m., deputies and K-9 units were called to the 700 block of Kensington Lakes Circle for reports of a missing child with autism.

Deputies found the child in the water a short time later and performed life-saving measures. The child was taken to a local hospital, and was pronounced dead HCSO said.

The investigation is ongoing.
