CONCORD, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — I-85 northbound lanes was closed in Cabarrus County Concord due to a serious crash, the Department of Transporation says.

The road was closed after Exit 58 in Concord.

Drivers were asked to take Exit 58, left onto US 29, right onto NC 4/Dale Earnhardt Boulevard and then straight on Dale Earnhardt to I-85.

The road reopened shortly after 8:30 p.m.

Concord Police say NCSHP is investigating the crash.

No word yet on how serious the crash is, any injuries or if weather played a role in the accident.
