BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was arrested after deputies say he shot another man in the stomach with a flare gun.
It happened around 12:20 p.m. Sunday in the area of Aztec Drive and S Division Avenue in Cutlerville, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called to the area on a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, investigators found that a 54-year-old Byron Township man and a 41-year-old Grand Rapids man had been physically fighting when the Byron Township man shot the other in the stomach with a flare gun.
The Grand Rapids man had minor injuries and went to the hospital, according to deputies. The Byron Township man was arrested.

The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case, the sheriff’s office said.
