1-year-old injured in camper fire near Albion, police say


SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — As a camper burned near Albion Sunday, the residents drove to a local gas station to call for help, police say.

The fire started in the camper on H Drive North near 28 Mile Road in Sheridan Township, according to Michigan State Police. It’s not clear what caused the fire but MSP is investigating.

A 1-year-old child had “severe” burns because of the fire, MSP said. According to police, the residents drove to a gas station in the city of Albion to call for help and several bystanders assisted them.
