An early morning shooting in Fayetteville on Sunday left one man dead and another injured in the city’s ninth homicide investigation of the year.

Joseph Bell, 28, died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center from injuries sustained in the 1 a.m. shooting at Rumors Lounge in the 100 block of Eastern Boulevard, according to the Fayetteville Police Department. Another man, whose name was not released, was also taken to the hospital, police said.

In the same time frame last year, the city saw 28 homicide investigations.
