HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County firefighters have contained a large outdoor blaze near Galivants Ferry, but officials say smoke may still linger in the area.

Crews were sent to the area of Vaught and Pearl roads just before 12:45 p.m. for a reported two-acre outside fire.

As of 2:30 p.m., lanes of traffic were still blocked, but no structures are threatened.

The state Forestry Commission is assisting. Officials say smoke will be visible for an extended amount of time.
