I say, “suck it up buttercup,” and pay your fine. That is a very good reminder to you not to run red lights again. Kudos to the PSPD for using drones. I appreciate anything that will stop dangerous driving.

The life that will be saved could be mine.

Re: “Palm Springs should be fixing roads, not murals”

I’m surprised that the Desert Sun would publish a letter with such overtly racist overtones regarding repairing the George Floyd mural in downtown Palm Springs.  Would the author of that letter also suggest ‘moving on’ from 9/11? After all it’s over and done with. This murder should not be forgotten. If the mural makes people uncomfortable, good! It should! I’m an actual Palm Springs taxpayer and I wholeheartedly approve of spending my tax dollars on this restoration.

Stop the gas tax hikes

We appreciate Rep. Ken Calvert standing up for drivers in his district. He’s calling on Gov. Newsom to suspend the next gas tax hike July 1 and supporting legislation to lower the price at the pump.

Every time I fill up my tank, I wonder how far it will take me and it’s never far enough. It has become a major monthly expenditure in my budget at California prices. It adds up, especially when we all suffer from inflation and live paycheck to paycheck.

There is no limit to what the Democrats in Sacramento will do to punish us for driving. Banning gas cars, check. Raising the gas tax every single year, check. Due to regulations, their latest scheme to bleed us dry may cost us another 50 cents a gallon.

Representative Calvert has shown he’s a leader who remembers who he works for. Listen to the people and the people say no!
