(BCN) – A third suspect was arrested this week in connection with the death of a man who was found inside a vehicle in Stockton in April.

Sir James Roots, 19, was identified as a suspect allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Boivae Martinez Jr. on April 6.

Police said after a warrant had been issued for Roots’ arrest, he committed two robberies Wednesday that led to him being detained by officers.

The day Martinez Jr. was killed, police said they responded at 12:42 a.m. that day to the area of Wood Duck Circle and Quail Lakes Drive on a report of a solo vehicle crash.

Martinez Jr. was found by officers inside a vehicle on top of a median with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In May, Jadari Benson, 18, was arrested by San Joaquin County Sheriff’s deputies following a traffic stop. Rafael Galvan, 18, was also detained by the Long Beach Police Department for his warrant.

All three suspects were believed to have been involved in the homicide of Martinez Jr and have been booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

Police said the shooting still remains an ongoing investigation.
