S.W.A.T. teams called, snipers deployed during southwest Bakersfield standoff


BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Sheriff’s deputies, Bakersfield police officers and the S.W.A.T. team were apart of an hours long standoff in southwest Bakersfield Saturday afternoon.

On June 29, a heavy law enforcement presence was seen outside a home in the 3800 block of Phaffle Drive. Around 3:30 p.m., law enforcement arrived on scene and a standoff ensued at a home near Akers and Wilson roads. Law enforcement could be seen with guns drawn towards the home while deputies swarmed the front of the building before deploying a drone.

The cause of the standoff and condition of any involved parties is unknown. No injuries have been reported.
