Woman dead after shooting in Baton Rouge, police investigating


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department are investigating after a woman was shot and killed in Baton Rouge.

According to the police department, officers were called to the 1300 block of North Cristy Drive around 8:46 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, and found a female victim down inside of a home.

Police identified the victim as Shelia Mitchell, 50. Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene.

No motive or suspects have been identified in this case.
