Man fatally stabbed while walking in Englewood


CHICAGO — An investigation is underway after a man was fatally stabbed while walking on the city’s South Side early Saturday morning.

Chicago police say the incident unfolded just before 5 a.m. in the 6300 block of South Stewart Avenue in Englewood.

According to police, the victim, an adult man whose age has not been released, was walking in the area with two other people when three other people approached in a car. Offices say one of the people from inside the car then stabbed the man several times.

The three people then got back in the car and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers say the two people who were with the victim during the stabbing were uninjured.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the stabbing and authorities say no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed.
