Water recovery underway for a male in Pike County


MILFORD, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— According to Pike County Communications Center, first responders are conducting a water recovery at Milford Beach after a person went under and never resurfaced Saturday afternoon.

Officials say that a call came in just before 3:30 p.m. for a male who never resurfaced.

The National Parks Service states they are searching for a 24-year-old man from Jackson, New Jersey who was reportedly last seen approximately 75 yards from the PA Shore in the Delaware River by a witness before submerging.

Crews are in recovery efforts with five boats, eight divers, and two side scan sonars, they will continue as long as weather and daylight allow them too, officials note.
