Cops are hunting the creep who hurled a racist insult at an Asian man before bashing him in the head with a thermos in Manhattan, cops and police sources said.

The unsuspecting victim was walking on Amsterdam Ave. near W. 113th St. in Morningside Heights at about 10:15 a.m. on Monday, June 17 when the suspect approached him and screamed, “Go back to your country!” before smacking him in the head with the metal thermos, the sources said.

The suspect ran off and remains at large. Surveillance photos show the man wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, black shoes, and a black backpack.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the assault. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
