PORT ST. LUCIE — A 66-year-old man died following a single-vehicle crash on a residential road Friday morning, police said.
The man, who was driving a 2019 Nissan vehicle that was not further specified, was traveling west in the 1800 block of Westmoreland Boulevard around 11 a.m. Friday when he left the road for unknown reasons and struck a power pole, according to Port St. Lucie police.
The driver was the only person inside the vehicle, and was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce where he later died from his injuries, police said.
No other information about the driver, including his name and hometown, was immediately available. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
