Morton bridge project could cause traffic delays. See when and where

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that pavement patching on the Morton Avenue bridge over Interstate 74 in Morton will begin July 8. The project will require lane closures on Morton Avenue and I-74 through the end of August.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area. Travelers should also consider using alternative routes to avoid the work area, when feasible.

IDOT advised drivers to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
