According to a news release, there have been at least four fires caused by illegally occupied recreational vehicles on single-family properties within the past year.

Fire is a leading cause of RV loss with about 2,000 RV fires happening annually, according to the National Parks Service and firefighters emphasized the danger the illegally parked vehicles pose within communities.

“The close proximity of these RVs to other buildings creates a serious fire hazard for the entire community,” the release said. “This violation not only breaks zoning laws but also presents a major public safety issue that the city’s code enforcement team is working to address.”
