An Iowa Park man was killed in an early morning wreck Thursday in Wise County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Logan Ray Churchwell, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at 3:48 a.m. on U.S. Highway 287 near the Wise and Montague county line.

DPS Sgt. Tony De La Cerda said a preliminary report indicated a 2021 Freightliner towing a trailer was traveling south when it overturned and blocked the southbound lanes. Churchwell’s pickup struck the trailer.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, Sucha Singh, 42, of Bakersfield, California, sustained minor injuries.
