MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – Wegmans is taking over a new space on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.

Wegmans signage has been put up in the windows at 1932 Broadway, located across from Lincoln Center between West 64th and West 65th streets.

A Wegmans spokesperson said that the supermarket company signed a long-term lease for the space at 1932 Broadway back in February. However, the spokesperson didn’t reveal Wegmans’ exact plans for the location.

A Wegmans representative previously told the New York Post in February that the space was a “personal investment” leased by Wegmans chairman Danny Wegman. At the time, Wegmans didn’t have any immediate plans to open a store at 1932 Broadway, The Post reported.

Bed Bath & Beyond previously occupied the space at 1932 Broadway, West Side Rag reported.

“While crews are clearing out the space and items left behind by the previous tenant, we continue to remain focused on our Astor Place store,” a Wegmans spokesperson told PIX11 News.

Wegmans currently has two grocery stores in New York City, including its Astor Place location at 770 Broadway in Manhattan and its Brooklyn Navy Yard location at 21 Flushing Ave.
