Jun. 27—TIFTON — There have been plenty of changes recently in businesses in and around Tifton, from buildings going up to those finding a new home.

Between Harbor Freight and Roses in the former Kmart building on Virginia Avenue, there is a sign that O’Reilly Auto Parts is coming soon.

O’Reilly Auto Parts already has a Tifton location on East Seventh Street. The company’s website has not been updated to indicate if the one on Virginia will be a second location or if the one on Seventh Street is moving.

El Jarocho Mexican Grill, which currently has a location at 1805 N. Tift Ave., has a sign on the Eighth Street building that most recently was home to 587 Bistro and before then housed Los Compadres.

New convenience stores continue to come along at several locations, including two on Carpenter Road and one on North Tift Avenue. Though not ready to open yet, the one on North Tift, labeled Speedy on its front, now has power running to signage.

Jackson Hewitt Tax Services has moved a tad south on Virginia Avenue to the Tifton Corners Shopping Center at 173 S. Virginia.

The Family Dollar on US 82 East is now closed and the building for sale. Tifton still has a Family Dollar at 614 Love Ave, open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
