117+ mph, fake plates land driver in jail, Fairfax County police say


FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Police shared one combination that will send someone to jail directly: driving more than 60 mph above the posted speed limit and doing it with fake license plates.

The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) posted on the X platform about an incident involving a driver whom officers stopped. The post, which included video of the stop, noted: “117+ MPH in a 55 MPH zone and fictitious license plates? Believe it or not, straight to jail, right away.”

In the video, you hear one of the police officers in his cruiser say, “He’s going to jail, ’cause that was ridiculous.”
