One youth is missing, another in critical condition following possible drowning in Oak Creek

A youth remains missing and another is in critical condition following a possible drowning in Lake Michigan, off of Bender Park in Oak Creek, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the call came in shortly before 8:30 p.m. from the park located at 4503 E. Ryan Road following a report that three people under the age of 18 were in distress in the water.

One youth was saved, but another had agonal breathing and remains in critical condition as of Wednesday night. A search is ongoing for a third, who remains missing.

The sheriff’s office released the statement following a “preliminary” investigation and said the facts may change.

Assisting the sheriff’s office are the U.S. Coast Guard and Oak Creek first responders.
