Jun. 26—CASS LAKE — A Laporte man who was reported missing two days ago has been found dead in Cass Lake.

According to a release from Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes, on Wednesday morning, June 26, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a deceased body that had been discovered in a wooded area near the railroad tracks in Cass Lake.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office and Leech Lake Tribal Police Department responded to the area where officers discovered the remains of a missing person identified as 60-year-old James White of rural Laporte.

White had been reported missing to the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office on June 24 after reportedly not being seen for the past two weeks.

White’s cause of death remains under investigation.
