DDA search down to two

Jun. 26—TRAVERSE CITY — The field of candidates to lead the city’s Downtown Development Authority continues to shrink.

Laura Kingman, a local Realtor in Traverse City who also worked in marketing and business development for Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, dropped out of Friday’s scheduled interviews at a special meeting of the DDA Board.

Kingman accepted another position, according to an email Thursday from Nate Geinzer of Double Haul Solutions which is assisting the DDA with its executive search.

Kingman’s withdrawal leaves two remaining candidates, DDA Chief Operating Officer Harry Burkholder who’s serving in an interim role leading the DDA, and Maxwell Cameron, who serves as a project manager for the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. See Thursday’s Record-Eagle for more information.
