Triple murder suspect in Oklahoma and Alabama killings apprehended in Arkansas

A man wanted in connection to three slayings in Oklahoma and Alabama was arrested in Arkansas on Thursday morning, authorities said.

Stacy Lee Drake, 50, “was located and arrested this morning in Arkansas by the Morrilton Police Department and Arkansas State Police,” according to a statement by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

“We want to thank all agencies who assisted in locating this individual,” the Oklahoma law enforcement agency added.

Arkansas State Police had issued a warning to residents in and around Morrilton to keep their eyes out for Drake who had “purchased camping gear and all indications are he is still in the Morrilton area,” which is about 50 miles northwest of Little Rock, state police had said.

The suspect’s last known address is in Birmingham, but authorities in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, said he’d spent several recent days in their community.

He’s been tied to the slayings of a man and woman and a car theft in Sallisaw, near U.S. Highway 64 on Tuesday night, local and state officials in Oklahoma said. Sallisaw is about 130 miles west of Morrilton.

The man is also wanted by Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies in connection to the May 14 slaying of Russell Andrews, 62, in Alabama, officials there said.

The suspect had been “in Tuscaloosa a few weeks” before the slaying and was “using a false name,” according to a statement by Sheriff’s Capt. Jack Kennedy
