America’s largest iced tea franchise to open its first Kansas City area location Friday

HTeaO, a Texas-based iced tea chain with more than 100 locations nationwide, is two-stepping into Missouri.

A Raymore location at 705 W. Foxwood Drive is set to open Friday, June 21. It will be the first HTeaO in the state and the first in the Kansas City area.

“This opening represents a thrilling new chapter for us as we introduce our brand and passion for quality iced tea to Missouri,” said Justin Howe, CEO and co-founder of HTeaO. “Raymore’s combination of small-town spirit and ongoing business growth and development makes it the perfect location for expanding into the new state.”

The store will be owned and operated by franchisees Cathryn and Derek Wieck. They’ll be giving out free tea from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, and half-price specials all weekend.

Founded in 2019 in Midland, Texas, HTeaO serves 25 flavors of freshly brewed tea, with flavors like Sweet Georgia Peach, Secret Cotton Candy and Mango Tango. The teas contain no powders or syrups and are made with water filtered through a reverse osmosis system onsite at each location.

The company has said it aims to be the “Starbucks of iced tea.” It has franchise agreements to open several hundred more HTeaOs in the coming years, including one in Gardner, according to its website.

Hours at the Raymore location will be Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 9:05 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9:06 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9:05 p.m.
