Man accused of murdering 79-year-old Bedford woman after forcing his way into her home

Bedford police have arrested a 39-year-old man who faces a murder charge in the Thursday killing of 79-year-old Christine Barsanti at her home.

The suspect is believed to have forced his way into the victim’s home and beat her to death after asking to use her phone, Bedford police said in a news release.

Brandon Paramore, of Euless, was charged Monday in the homicide. Tarrant County Jail records indicate his bond has not yet been set.

Officers were called to the 2400 block of Meadow View Lane on Friday in reference to someone who was unconscious there, according to police. When they arrived, they found Barsanti inside the house. She was dead, having been hit by an unknown object.

During their investigation of the home invasion, police obtained surveillance video that showed a man wearing a black shirt, black tights and white tennis shoes approaching the victim’s front door on Thursday. The woman answered the door and spoke to the suspect, who asked to use her phone, according to police. After she refused, the suspect forced his way into her home, the release says.

The footage showed the person who forced his way inside the home looked like Paramore, which officers determined based on previous contact with him, police said. Officers were able to locate him and he was arrested on unrelated charges on Saturday as the homicide investigation continued.

“Our thoughts are with Ms. Barsanti’s family, who have been supportive throughout our efforts to bring her justice,” Deputy Police Chief Bobby LaPenna said in the news release.

Paramore’s bond will be set when he is arraigned. Police said the case is still under investigation.
