Red Hot Chili Peppers hangout with Bernalillo County Animal Care Service staff and dogs

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Dogs and staff from the Bernalillo County Animal Care Service had a special visit with the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Isleta Amphitheater.

The iconic rock group invited five dogs that are up for adoption, two staff members, and a few volunteers from the shelter backstage before their concert on Friday night. The county said the band, known for their animal advocacy, wanted to use their fame to raise awareness of homeless animals in the community.

“It was pretty, pretty amazing. I think it was a great opportunity for our animals and our volunteers, and fosters. They put a lot of time and effort into our animals, so it was nice for them to get that experience,” said Tiffany Chamblee, Bernalillo County Animal Care Services engagement and outreach manager.

Chamblee said this is the first time a big-name musical act has asked them to join them before a concert.
