South Carolina’s primary election day is Tuesday, June 11. Voters can cast ballots for candidates seeking congressional, state, and county offices.
Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Anyone in line before closing time will be allowed to vote. Find your polling location by going to SC Votes.
South Carolina is an open primary state, meaning registered voters can choose to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries but cannot vote in both. The deadline to register to vote in the primary passed on May 12, but you can still register to vote in the Nov. 5 general election. To register to vote, South Carolina residents can visit the South Carolina Election Commission’s website to register online.
South Carolina Election Commission reports 97,048 South Carolinians have already voted early from May 28 to June 6.
As of Friday afternoon, 4,631 voters cast their ballots early in Anderson County. In Spartanburg County, early voting turnout is at 6,560 voters. Greenville County emerges as the county with the most early voters this election season with approximately 12,000 voters participating in early voting.
Here’s what to know about the primary.
