Northwest Kansas crash leaves 2 out of state men seriously injured


THOMS COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — Two men from out of state were seriously injured in a crash in northwest Kansas Sunday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at 6:22 a.m., a 51-year-old man from Delray Beach, Florida, was driving a 2022 Freightliner Semitrailer hauling a trailer westbound on Interstate 70 in Oakley. With him was a 49-year-old man from Stamford, Connecticut.

The KHP says the driver of the semitrailer left the roadway on the inside shoulder. When he attempted to drive back onto the roadway, the semitrailer’s trailer tipped over on its left side as it came back onto the roadway.

Both drivers were taken with suspected serious injuries to a Thomas County hospital.
