$120 million Queen Creek development to include Postino, The Porch

A $120 million mixed-use development that will include restaurants, stores, offices and apartments will begin construction in Queen Creek later this year.

The development called the Switchyard, has already signed its first restaurant tenants. The Porch will open an 11,900-square-foot restaurant with an expansive patio in the development, and Postino will open a 3,800-square-foot restaurant. Phoenix-based Creation, a commercial real estate developer with projects around the Valley is the developer.

In total, the development will have 54,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, and office space on 10 acres of land.

Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, and the project will open in phases, with the first phase scheduled to open in early 2026.

The project also includes an apartment complex, but a Creation spokesperson said the unit count for the complex is not yet finalized.

“This exciting project helps bring the vision of our downtown core to life,” Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley said in a statement. “With specialty restaurant and retail, along with boutique office, The Switchyard will offer a variety of options for residents and visitors in the heart of our community.

Creation is also the developer of Park Algodon, a $250 million project in west Phoenix that includes a 1.3-million-square-foot industrial development, a joint venture with Clarion Partners, and a 7-acre restaurant and retail development that will include 14,000 square feet of space.

That project broke ground in late May, and the first phase is expected to open in the fall of 2025.
