Update:

Two people were arrested after a seven-hour standoff Wednesday in Palm Coast, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said.

Flagler County deputies received a call around 6:30 a.m. about residents playing loud music at 94 Forsythe Lane. A table, chairs, blanket and burning candle were also in the middle of the street.

Investigators learned from the people who called that the home was where Hunter Detherow’s parents lived.

Hunter Detherow is in jail for a stabbing since March 2024.

Law enforcement arrived at the scene and found Hunter Detherow’s father, 55-year-old Robert Shawn Detherow, who began touching himself, resulting in the deputies calling for backup.

Detherow threw bottles at the deputies and then retreated into the house when backup units arrived.

He came out of the house several times to yell at deputies before retreating back inside again. At one point, Detherow was hit by a rubber bullet and went back inside and refused to comply with orders from deputies.

Flagler County investigators said they found videos Detherow posted to Facebook and YouTube that referenced “suicide by cop,” becoming a martyr, his dislike for the sheriff’s office over his son’s arrest, and inviting Sheriff Rick Staly to arrest him.

SWAT teams entered the home with a robot and found Detherow and 23-year-old Kaleb Smith, who came out and was arrested.

After several hours, Detherow came out, where deputies arrested him.

He is charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, resisting a law enforcement officer and sexual exposure.

Smith and Detherow were taken to Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.

Guns were also found in the home.

Deputies in Flagler County responded to a SWAT standoff on Wednesday.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said the incident started after one of his deputies was assaulted at a home on Forsythe Lane in Palm Coast.

A SWAT team from Saint Johns County was called in to assist Flagler County deputies.

Negotiators are on the scene, hoping to de-escalate the incident and bring everything to a peaceful conclusion.

People are being asked to avoid the area as deputies and SWAT personnel work to resolve the situation.
